Corporate Seated Massage

 

In a study* undertaken by Workcover, Western Australia, 2.6% of all workers’ compensation claims lodged in 2001/02 were as a result of work related stress with the average duration for claims being 109.7 working days, 91.1% more than the average duration for other claims. 

The average cost of these stress related claims was $32,631, being twice the cost of all other claims. The cost to our economy in lost time directly attributed to stress in the workplace runs into millions of dollars each year.

A recent COMCARE report highlighted an employer’s responsibility under the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 to do as much as is reasonably practicable to protect the health and safety of their employees.   

Our Corporate Seated Massage program addresses and alleviates many of the issues related to mental and muscular stress in the workplace as well as having a direct and immediate benefit on physiological aspects associated with poor posture and work related muscular injuries. 

Corporate Seated Massage involves short duration (usually 10 or 15 minute) massages in a specially designed chair. The recipient remains fully clothed and the massage treatments are carried out over the clothing and no oils or creams are used. The massage techniques used focus primarily on the upper body, covering the back, neck, shoulders and scalp. The ‘Stress Zones’.

The amount of pressure used depends on each individual’s needs and the expertise of our therapists. The recipient always has complete control over the massage session and by providing feedback to our therapist, treatments are tailored to the needs of the individual. It is all about the comfort of the recipient.

 Our therapists may take a brief medical history prior to commencing to ensure that any pre-existing conditions are known. Once seated in the chair, the recipient just relaxes and we do the rest.

The added spin off is increased concentration, energy and alertness levels, lower absenteeism and of course, motivated staff.

There are 3 funding options available:

  1. Fully funded by for employees
  2. Subsidised: payment split between the business and employees
  3. As a fully funded ‘user pays’ scheme where individuals pay for themselves.

Our pricing structure is based on a flat hourly rate and is very affordable with a minimum booking of just 1 hour.
